Matilda Byrne

In her final year of a Masters of International Relations, Matilda Byrne’s strong interests areas are in security policy focusing on issues such as arms control and disarmament and how these peaceful efforts can maximize strategic policy. Having researched international regimes relating to small arms and light weapons (SALW) as part of her university coursework her enthusiasm to contribute to the reduction of the presence of these weapons led to her joining the SafeGround committee in November 2015.

Previously, Matilda had experience in communication positions with her work on the Youth Advisory Committee Public Relations team at headspace Elsternwick and as the Promotions Officer of RMIT Latino Groove Collective.
